Now Anisha jokes about Deepika’s engagement!

Deepika’s very private birthday celebrations in the Maldives with beau Ranveer Singh earlier this year had been replete with rumours of it including a secret engagement. Buzz was intense that the two would bring in their new year on a note of love and hope, surrounded by their closest family, as they made that sacred pledge to each other amidst the aquamarine lagoons and pristine beaches of their island getaway.

However, the couple returned to the bay later minus the big announcement everyone was longing to hear. Did they? Didn’t they? They sure weren’t telling!

Now the topic of their alleged engagement naturally came up as Deepika and her sister Anisha got together to chat up with Neha Dhupia on ‘BFFs With Vogue’. Quizzed about the rumours of her getting formally engaged on their Maldives vacation, Deepika came out to deny it, saying, “I was not engaged!”
Neha, however, wasn’t letting go off her so easily. She asked to see her ring finger and checked for a tan line – which was definitely very evident! That could be proof that DP had indeed been sporting a ring on her vacation!

Of course, there were no verbal confirmations forthcoming, with even Anisha piping in, “She has been engaged successively for the last four years.”
Despite these denials, there still remains a strong likelihood of the couple were formally engaged, with plans to tie the knot later this year.

After months of keeping a low-key distance from each other so as not to antagonize radical elements calling for a ban on their film, Deepika and Ranveer grabbed eyeballs as they strode in hand in hand at the film’s premiere.
They made a rare public appearance together, smiling and chatting and comfortably posing for the cameras. The enforced distance need not be maintained any longer, Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji are characters that are out of their system, and the two are back to giving us couple goals like they invariably do.
