In the army, Sidharth runs, Manoj cooks…

January 25 was already to be a crowded day at the box office, with Aiyaary and PadMan hitting the screens. Then Padmaavat decided to join the fray, and the makers of the Sidharth Malhotra-Manoj Bajpayee army flick wisely decided to shift the date. While it will release on February 9, the lead actors have been winning the hearts of our armed forces.

On Sunday, Sidharth Malhotra, Manoj Bajpayee, Rakul Preet and Pooja Chopra travelled to Jaisalmer, to interact with the army jawans at the border. They participated in activities at the BSF camp and even cooked up a storm in the mess!

So we are treated to the adorable sight of the fantastic actor Manoj looking quite at ease as he prepares dinner. Surrounded by bowls full of spice, he cooks up an alu-gobi for all the soldiers, also giving instructions to a helper as he talks to a journalist!

In another video, the actresses are seen jogging and then lying prostrate to take up positions behind the guns fixed on the ground. Team Aiyaary also trained with the BSF India personnel at the training camp, and it’s not an experience they will forget in a hurry.

The Aiyaary team had decided to stay at the BSF camp for two days and celebrate Lohri with the jawans. The promotional spree involves a host of events, along with the Lohri celebrations. They were also keen to spend time learning the routine of the BSF soldiers, and understanding what they do on a daily basis. The Lohri celebrations with a musical night would be the highlight of their interaction with the jawans.

Aiyaary, a Neeraj Pandey directorial, is a thriller, based on a real-life incident that revolves around two strong-minded army officers played by Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee. The director has described Aiyaary as ‘what a soldier resorts to ultimately in the face of extreme crisis… which not only bedazzles his own troop but also earns him the respect of his enemies.’

The film has been shot in Delhi, London, Kashmir and other locations.
