We will be very happy to have Kangana on the show: Karan Johar

Filmmakers Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty who have joined hands for an upcoming talent hunt show India's Next Superstars recently had a press conference in Mumbai. In the press conference, a lot was talked about the show and Karan’s and Rohit’s plans for the show. Among the many questions asked was one by an anonymous reporter which had the entire audience roaring!

That’s right. It was along the lines Kangana Ranaut and the infamous spat between the filmmaker and the actress. The whole diss started when Kangana appeared on Koffee with Karan and called the filmmaker “torch-bearer of nepotism”. Bollywood learned a new word and it’s never been out of the limelight since.

When at the press-conference, Karan was asked if they would invite Kangana to the show, he said, “I'm sure if Star Plus invites Kangana Ranaut, I'm sure that we will be very happy to have her. (sic)”

“Humara dil bada hai, humara ghar khula hai, hum chahte hai ki aap aao, hum chahte hai ki jinhe bhi invite ya nyota hum bheje, hum haste khelte unka swaagat karenge, bohot izzat ke saath, prem aur sneh ke saath,” he added.

When Rohit was asked for his thoughts, he laughed it off saying, “Same.” The action-filmmaker later added, “Aur kya karenge? Isse zyaada kya karenge?”

Towards the end of the conference, a reporter asked Karan if he was waiting for an opportunity were he could answer nepotism, to which Karan said, “Ye tagline (Na Khandaan na Sifarish) hai, humare taraf se jawaab tha, meri taraf se answer tha. It is true ki bohot saare log hai jo desh mai, ghar mai, jo chahte hai woh entertainment industry ka hissa bane. Bohot mushkil ho jata hai… To get in touch, to find a platform. Un log ke liye hai ye show jinke paas na khaandaan hai na sifarish hai, lekin josh hai, junoon hai, hunar hai, aur woh chahte hai ki unko woh platform mile or woh platform hum unko de rahe hai. We hear you, Karan!

The show that is on a lookout for all-round talent who can act, dance and emote well on screen, will air later in January.
