Amidst talk of Karisma possibly remarrying, never say never, Kareena!

This sounds like a melodramatic line from an old Hindi film, but it’s a fact that nothing matters to a parent more than to see his child happy. Ranbir Kapoor is currently sounding extremely supportive of his daughter and her budding relationship with beau Sandeep Toshniwal. Toshniwal’s divorce from his orthodontist wife, Ashrita has recently come through and he and Karisma have been spotted around town, lending credence to rumours that the two are prepping to tie the knot.

Randhir has come out to give his daughter his full support, saying, “If she (Karisma) wants to get married, then she has my blessings. She is young and must be seeing him (Sandeep), I don’t know. I also see their photographs… If she wants to begin her life again and her children are happy with it (her decision to get married again) then I will support them. I don’t think there is anything wrong in that in today’s time.”

A lot can change within the span of a few years. Back in 2014, in the midst of the divorce battle being fought between Karisma and her then-husband, Sanjay Kapur, and talk of her dating Toshniwal, Kareena had flown to her sister’s defence saying, “It is better to stay apart in peace than to live together and fight. But Lolo will never remarry. Leave her alone, her divorce hasn’t come through yet. It’s a traumatic time for her.”

In fact, as recently as April 2017, dad Randhir Kapoor had declared, “I think Lolo (Karisma) is very well settled and happy. I have never discussed the issue of marriage with her but if she does plan to, she will always have my blessings. But I don’t think she wants to get married… She is a happy mother and if she wants, she can get married any time but there is no step in that direction right now. She is happy the way she is. Lolo is an excellent mother who dotes on her children and probably doesn’t feel the need to get married.”
Pity they didn’t feel the need to check with Karisma first, no?
