Gal Gadot stole our hearts in and as Wonder Woman. And we suspect Katrina Kaif would do just the same given half a chance! Now the gal – and we mean Kat, not Gadot! – has come out to share her feelings about the need for a full-on superheroine film! Blame it on the snazzy action and stunts she pulls off alongside Salman Khan in Tiger Zinda Hai, but she believes it’s high time Bollywood made its very own superheroine film.
The actress, who maintains that she enjoys action-oriented movie outings, has clearly given the idea some serious thought. She points out that there are several characters in our Indian comics as well, which could be translated onto the big screen. Our mythology is full of wonderful characters which would lend themselves beautifully to be made into a great superheroine, she believes.
And she isn’t hiding her eagerness to be part of such a project. She happily admits that she would love to play a superheroine; and has always loved superheroines. Declaring that there are actually quite a few characters that she personally loves, she adds that there are also some discussions on regarding the same but quickly stops herself from revealing more, saying she doesn’t want to say too much at this point in time!
What she does firmly believe is that someone should make a superheroine film right now, even if it’s a collaboration and not just a solo film.
…And that ‘someone’ might well be her ex-boyfriend, whom she has reportedly grown very close to again during the filming of Tiger Zinda Hai! There have been talks of Salman being extremely keen to produce a film starring Katrina, and his production house has supposedly been already scouting for scripts. Given Katrina’s current craze for the superheroine genre, Salman does seem to be the most likely one to make Kat’s superheroine dreams come true. They are clearly on the same page, in many respects. They had been the most comfortable on the sets of Ek Tha Tiger, by Kat’s own admission, and she had been looking forward to shooting “possibly the perfect film for both Salman and me to do together,” namely Tiger Zinda Hai. We are placing our bets on an exciting announcement in the not so distant future!
