Thrilled grandma Hema will teach Radhya Bharatnatyam!

“We are very happy to announce that our daughter will be named as Radhya. The name has been jointly decided by Esha and me,” revealed new daddy, Bharat Takhtani. And of course, it was time for grandma Hema Malini to rejoice. The veteran actress and MP has been raving about how it is such a beautiful feeling to become a grandmom again! She declared that she was very excited right now, and that ‘Dharmendra ji’ was also very happy. Esha was doing well, and the newborn baby girl, whom Esha and her husband Bharat Takhtani have decided to name Radhya, was so sweet and lovely-looking, like a little doll, the thrilled grandma gushed.

She went on to add that the people of Mathura, her constituency, are very happy. “Krishna ki nagri hai, toh Radha Rani is important there,” said the beaming Hema.

Hema was already a doting grandmother after the birth of her younger daughter Ahana’s son, Darien, but she was only too thrilled to be a grandma all over again. In a recent interview, she had revealed that she was “just waiting for Esha’s baby!” She spoke about her “little guardian,” her grandson and Ahana’s son, Darien, who she called a wonderful kid. He is very fond of everybody in the family, she said, adding that she liked to believe she shared a special bond with the tot. “I like to make sure that kids have a little spiritual inclination, so Darien folds his hands and wishes people, has prashad I offer my Laddu Gopal (God idol). I don’t know if they will believe in God as they will grow up, he of course doesn’t understand spirituality now, but it is beautiful to see him growing up so well.” In fact the second-time grandma to be, had revealed that if Esha has a boy, she would have one more grandson, and that if the baby was a girl, she would definitely teach her Bharatnatyam!

Even as both, the Deols and the Takhtanis rejoice over the new addition to their family, rave over the 'divine' name, and prepare for the formal naming ceremony in a week's time, Grandma Hema must be scouting for a tiny pair of ghungroos!
