So while we had admired the traditional avatar the ex-actress, turned writer and producer Twinkle Khanna had stepped out in for a Diwali do, it took a tweet from her a few days later, to give us some fun inside details.

Posting a picture of herself and husband Akshay Kumar holding hands, she captioned it, “Some people and some things are worth holding onto! The man:) and even the outfit, bag, paper gajra I’ve worn repeatedly over the years #Recycle.”

Holding onto husband…
After 16 years of marriage, they both evidently know they are onto a good thing. Like she has put it, “I think it’s a great team. We are playing tennis doubles, and I think that’s a pretty good foundation for a marriage to last.”

She admires her husband’s “calm and composed mind,” and the pulse he has on what people say and feel. It’s why she runs all her columns by him. Despite making light of their marriage – they posted a video of themselves with the caption “16 years of trying to kill each other and we still haven't succeeded:) #16thanniversary #partnersincrime” – Akshay has revealed that Twinkle is not just his wife but also his best friend. She is the one who pulls him up when he's low and puts him in place when he's flying; what more does a man need!

Holding on to things…
Traditional is forever and clearly, Twinkle, almost as big a fan of Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla as her mother Dimple is, would never dream of clearing an Abu-Sandeep from her closet just because it wasn’t spanking new anymore. The gota patti work kurta set by Abu-Sandeep is obviously a keeper. We love how when Twinkle commented on her own pic, saying “…and credit to the designer if the clothes still look resplendent over time,” Sandeep Khosla was quick to reply, “Love you @twinklerkhanna” The clutch is a classic too and deserves stashing away safely but we are even more impressed by the care with which she has stored her paper gajra. It says a lot about a person, don’t you think? The more we get to know Twinkle Khanna, the better we like her!
