Kangana’s slaying it in style!

There’s no drama, no make-up, no sound effects. But we can already picture Kangana Ranaut really killing it as Rani Laxmibai in her next film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The actress, who has been taking horse-riding lessons and sword-fighting classes, has been prepping hard to get under the skin of her role. And the latest video of her swinging swords like quite the pro, shows she’s getting there already.

Standing with feet planted firmly on the ground and legs bent at the knees, she starts rotating two swords in preparation for the next step. Legs straightened she then begins twirling the swords with finesse, revolving them wildly through the air, a delight to watch! In the background, one sees her male co-stars also practising their moves with the metal, but it’s difficult to keep your eyes off Kangana. Her pale pretty face shows calmness and concentration – just the qualities a girl needs to stay ahead of her game!

Buzz has it that key battle scenes will be filmed in Jodhpur post Diwali and Ms. Ranaut is clearly preparing to take our breath away.

In May this year, Kangana had launched the 20-feet tall poster of the film at Dasashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi, the birthplace of Rani Laxmibai, who had been born Manikarnika, in 1828 into a Brahmin family. “After coming on board for this project, I feel like I’ve achieved something very big in my life. This story has a lot of energy,” she had expressed at the event. Playing the role of the warrior queen who fought to the finish, has impacted her strongly. “I feel that Rani of Jhansi is very relatable for women like us. Life without respect was equivalent to death for her. I think that is something I completely identified with,” she had averred.
Keep that respect, girl!
