“I’m with you, yo!” Daddy Rishi tells Ranbir

While we really don’t know just what sort of father Rishi Kapoor is at home – a nagging mother hen, probably! – in the social media space, he’s the best daddy a guy could ask for!
Ranbir Kapoor had been discussed, mocked and trolled ever since images of his with Pakistani star Mahira Khan went viral recently. The duo had been papped smoking outside a hotel in New York, and while RK had come in for nasty insinuations, it was Mahira who had ended up slammed for smoking, being in the company of a man, wearing a short dress.
While no one expected any reaction from the star – what crime is it to be ‘caught’ smoking outdoors with a pretty lady? - Ranbir did take us by surprise by addressing the issue, on Mahira’s behalf. In a statement to a daily he said, “I've gotten to know Mahira in a personal capacity over the last few months. She is somebody who I admire and respect, for her achievements and even more for the person she is. It is very unfair the way she is being judged and spoken about. What is also said is the inequality in judgment just because she is a woman. I request you to stop the negativity and move on with your beautiful god gifted lives. Peace and Love.” He finished this off with the brilliant: “PS: Both smoking and hate are injurious to health.”

RK, who is not on social media anyway, was thereafter blissfully unconcerned about what the trolls of the world continued to spew about his character, his morals, and everything in between. Not so Papa Rishi, who is extremely active on Twitter and what’s more is humanly unable to stop himself from reacting. However, instead of meeting verbal abuse with verbal abuse, we were happy to see the actor take to the social networking space to show his support to his son in the nicest way possible. Rishi’s tweet addressed to his son – “He is being honest, media just going aboard. Don't worry I am with you. Yo!” – has clear warmed our heart. This comes on the heels of his recent statement regarding Ranbir’s so-called Casanova ways – “He can meet anybody whoever he wants to, and if people are going to invade his privacy, it's not done.”

We like, Mr. Kapoor, we like very much!
