She might wear his ring – most of the time anyways! – but Deepika Padukone is no closer to publicly accepting her relationship with Ranveer Singh, than she is to, say, returning to a career in badminton. This was confirmed yet again as she shot for the TV show, ‘Starry Nights’. Host Komal Nahta turned the conversation around to reported-boyfriend Ranveer’s claim that she calls him every hour when she is away. It was time for the Padmavati stunner to put her acting chops to use. Feigning shock, she retorted, “What? What? I don’t believe that! Guys, it’s a rumour.” What followed though would not exactly be funny to Ranveer’s ears…

Quizzed again about her supposed constant calls to her boyfriend, she exclaimed, “Why Ranveer? Why not somebody else?”
Not slow on the uptake, Komal retorted, “Okay, then Ranbir!”
Foxed for a couple of moments, Deepika came back with the very unexpected response: “I wish. I really wish.”
Naturally, those little words have opened up a whole flood of speculation. Does she actually mean that she misses her ex? Will Ranveer always come second to her old love?
Not easy questions for Ranveer or Deepika to handle, either.

In the past, when asked whether Ranveer is insecure about her working with her ex, she had maintained, “Is he secure? You have to ask him. …I can't answer that question on his behalf. But I'm going to take a bit of credit for that. I also make it easier by being honest about my feelings for all the people in my life, good, bad, past and present. I'm very, very clear and honest that this is how it is. I make the relationship easier if at all.”
Hopefully, Ranveer agrees!
