Two geniuses in one frame. If reports are to be believed Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani have finalized and locked a concept for a film and an official announcement will take place in a few weeks!
Not known to many, Hirani wanted to make his debut as a director with SRK 14 years back but due to various reasons it didn’t happen. In the past, the director even admitted that the role of iconic Munna Bhai was first offered to Khan but due to health issues he opted out of the film. Recently, in an interview, King Khan did express his regret of not doing Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. "I think every film is written in an actor's destiny. I don't think I would have done it as well as Sanjay Dutt has. I think he was fantastic in the film," confessed SRK.
For the uninitiated, Shah Rukh was also offered 3 Idiots which he declined!
Currently, Hirani is tied up with the larger-than-life biopic on Sanjay Dutt's life starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. The untitled project will release on March 30, 2018. SRK, on the other hand, is occupied with the shooting of Aanand L. Rai's movie. He will be playing a double role in the film, considering his part is touted to be based on Game Of Thrones character Tyrion Lannister aka a dwarf.
This film might turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Khan who desperately needs a pathbreaking project to get his game back on track. After a string of flops like Raees, Jab Harry Met Sejal, industry insiders claim that Hirani, whose is hailed as one the finest filmmakers in the industry, might give a new lease of life to the actor's otherwise dwindling career.
However, fans will have to wait until 2019 to see the two mavericks collaborate for any project, untill Dutt biopic and SRK-Rai's film hit the 70mm screen.
