Each day at Lakme Fashion Week S/R 2020 left us with more than just a little something and a feel-good feeling. Similarly, Day 3 at the runway was all about fashion as an art, the artistry and the freedom of expression in fashion.
Kick-starting the day with the 6Degree representation, Sanjukta Dutta, Varun Chakkilam, Gazal Mishra and Jiviva by Jigvijay & Varsha presented their recent Spring/Summer collections.
While Jiviva’s and Varun Chakkilam’s collections were fresh and festive, Sanjukta Dutta and Gazal Mishra’s collection were an ode to art and classic artists.
The Jajaabor, Tahweave and Mishru showcase was all about exploring through ideas, art and prints.
House of Kotwara’s runway presentation was a wholesome collection of traditional and contemporary silhouettes alike. Muted pastels and monochromes, fused with light-weight embroidery and prints on indo-western garments with a millennial touch made for the entirety of their collection.
Chic, dramatic and millennial glamour, Anand Kabra made a lasting impression with his collection. An eclectic fusion of embroidery, patchwork, motifs, embellishments and prints on fusion silhouettes made for a banger showcase at the runway.
Gaurang Shah’s current collection, ‘Garam Masala’ has to be one of the highlight’s of this season. Mesmerizing us with the poetry and poetic showcase, showstopper Tabu made for the most charming reciter as the models walked the aisle. Celebrating women in all their glory, Gaurang’s collection, as always, left us with a fuller heart!
Shivan & Narresh’s showcase was all ice and fire on the runway! With an array of printed and solid ensembles featuring beachwear, summer dresses and co-ords, this collection is your calling for that beach-vacay that you thought was an abandoned dream. Catch yourself from drooling, because you just might!
The Reebok X Chola show was high on energy and sartorial fluidity, featuring Reebok’s Zig Kinetica range. This wasn’t just your average runway show, it was definitely an experience of a lifetime!
While Samant Chauhan’s current collection, featuring Shikhar Dhawan as the showstopper, was all gloomy, structured and monochrome ensembles, Gauri & Nainika’s dreamy collection was straight out of a fairy tale!
From larger-than-life gowns to skin-hugging silhouettes, from structured dresses to thigh-high slits, from unabashed sexiness to unrelenting charm, we saw it all!
So wholesome, we’re still reeling from the side-effects of this sartorial overdose! What are your thoughts?
