Shark Tank India 2: Viewers troll sharks for rejecting makeup brand for Vineeta Singh's sake, Namita Thapar reacts saying 'I call out toxicity, no regrets'

After the humongous success of Shark Tank India, Sony Entertainment Television greenlit the second season almost immediately. The show went on air on Monday with entrepreneurs Anupam Mittal, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar and Aman Gupta returning as 'sharks'. The first episode of Shark Tank 2 saw some interesting pitches from different corners of India. But, when a pitch about a makeup brand called Recode was rejected, netizens didn't waste a minute to slam the sharks.

'Sharks' Namita and Aman refused to invest in the makeup brand for the sole reason that it was Vineeta's brand Sugar's direct competition. While the pitch managed to impress the sharks, they turned it down just for the sake of Vineeta's friendship. This left netizens and fans of Shark Tank disappointed. Slamming the practice of rejecting pitches for the sake of friendship, people called out the entrepreneurs for not giving equal chances to lesser-known and new entrants in the market.

Soon after netizens slammed the sharks and Shark Tank 2, Namita shared her opinion on Twitter. Reacting to the trolling, she wrote, "Being a shark doesn’t mean we are not entitled to our independent values & speaking candidly so if I don’t invest in a fellow sharks competition, that’s me, no regrets & if I call out toxicity & don’t join the ignorant that celebrate people w lack of integrity.. that’s me :)" She further added, "Who is the toxicity comment about? Samajhdar ko ishara kaafi"

Shark Tank 2 returned without Ashneer Grover and the audience is certainly missing him. He has been replaced by Amit Jain, the CEO & CoFounder of CarDekho.
