Sonali Phogat's untimely demise has created a stir. The actress and BJP leader's family members are suspecting foul play. As per the latest development, Sonali's family has lodged a complaint with the police, suspecting rape and murder by her personal assistant Sudhir Sangwan and his friend Sukhwinder.
Sonali's brother, in the complaint, claimed that she had spoken to their brother-in-law Aman Punia hours before her demise on Monday and suspected that she was served food laced with some intoxicant. The complaint reportedly read, "She told Punia that Sangwan and his friend had committed a theft at her house in Hisar three years ago and that she would approach the police on her return to Hisar on August 23. She also said Sangwan had given her food laced with some intoxicant, raped her and made a video and was threatening to make the video viral on social media."

Reportedly, her brother also claimed that Sangwan would blackmail the actress-politician and kept her phones, property documents, ATM cards and house keys with him. Sonali's daughter Yashodhara Singh Phogat, reportedly recorded her statement. In her statement, she reportedly said, "My mother deserves justice. The case requires proper investigation and the culprits should get strict punishment."
Sonali's sister spoke to a media agency and demanded a CBI investigation. She told, "I received a call from her the evening before her death. She said she wanted to talk over WhatsApp and that something fishy is going on. Later, she cut the call and then didn't pick up. My sister cannot have a heart attack. She was very fit. We demand a proper investigation by the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation). My family is not ready to accept that she died of a heart attack. She had no such medical problem."

Sonali, also known for participating in Bigg Boss 14, passed away on August 22 in Goa after suffering a 'heart attack'. The doctors performed an autopsy on Wednesday. Reports are yet to be made public.
