COVID-19 pandemic forces former Dance India Dance contestant Biki Das to work as valet in Kolkata, dancer injured in bike accident

The COVID-19 pandemic has left many people unemployed. While there is uncertainty about what lies in the future, former Dance India Dance contestant Biki Das had recently taken up the job of a valet for a food delivery app. Biki, who impressed all with his consistent performances on the dance reality show in 2014, was a dance mentor and also performed at stage shows. After being out of job, he decided to start working as a valet. However, on June 4, Biki met with an accident in Kolkata when a bike reportedly hit him.

According to reports, Biki was driving on a two-wheeler and he was on his way from Jodhpur Park to Ranikuthi, South Kolkata, to deliver food. Reportedly, his wife Sangeeta filed an FIR on Saturday at the Lake police station. Currently, the police are looking into the matter. As per hospital sources, the dancer is out of danger but has broken his ribs.

  1. In 2014, Mudassar Khan, Shruti Merchant, Feroz Khan, and Karan Dhar were the judges of Dance India Dance. Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty was the grandmaster. Biki belonged to Feroz's team called Feroz Ki Fauj. The season was won by Shyam Yadav.
