Hamari Bahu Silk's non-payment issue resolves, actors Zaan Khan-Chahat Pandey and others receive 70% of their dues

In April and May 2020, the now off-air show, Hamari Bahu Silk, made headlines for the wrong reasons. The producers of the daily soap failed to clear the dues of the cast and crew even after it ended in August 2019. Now, after much wait, the actors- Zaan Khan, Chahat Pandey and others have received 70% of their due amount. According to a leading daily's report, only a few suppliers are yet to be paid.

CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes Association) Chairperson Amit Behl and IFTPC (Indian Film and Television Directors' Association) Chairman JD Majethia played an important role in helping the cast and crew out of the mess. Talking to the daily, Majethia said it took a long time to reach a conclusion. The producers reportedly claimed they incurred losses too. "It took us a long time to get this done. But one fine day, we got the actors, producers and broadcaster under one roof and settled the matter once and for all. We heard both the parties and made them see light what was best for them in the existing situation," Majethia told.

Chahat, who played the role of Pakhi, said, "We are relieved. We were asking what was our right and the wait was nothing short of a torture. It was terribly irritating as well. Anyway, it's fine that we got at least 70 per cent of our dues."

In September last year, Zaan led a protest outside one of the producers, Jyoti Gupta's residence.
