I didn’t wear this dress to ‘hide my curves': Maanvi Gagroo slams a Delhi based clothing brand for fat-shaming her

Maanvi Gagroo has never shied away from standing for the right. The actress who delighted everyone with her presence in Ujda Chaman, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and the web series Four More Shots Please 2 this year, gave a befitting reply to a clothing brand for using her picture without permission. In addition to this, the Delhi-based brand used a distasteful tagline that promoted fat-shaming. Maanvi, on Twitter, in response to the tagline, gave back an answer in an impactful manner. Stating that she stands against fat-shaming, the actress said that she allowed no brand to make a comment on any person's physical attributes.

"I didn’t wear this dress to ‘hide my curves’. Not only does the brand NOT have my permission to use my picture as a sponsored post, they definitely don’t have my permission to fat shame ANYONE! I stand against everything this distasteful tagline points to," Maanvi wrote on Twitter.

Maanvi in Four More Shots Please played the role of Siddhi Patel, a wealthy girl targetted for her curves. Talking about breaking stereotypes and stopping the trend of body-shaming, Maanvi during an interview told, "When we started making a mark in the beauty pageant and young girls started getting their role models, the celebration of thin body also started. Now the whole thing has shifted and curves are being celebrated but again there is a business thought and marketing theory in them to bring back the trend of the curve. So, whatever we are showing in films and entertainment, there is a slice of reality in that."
