'We need to talk more about mental health,' say Karan Kundrra, Arjun Bijlani, Surbhi Chandna and others while mourning TV actress Preksha Mehta's suicide

Television actress Preksha Mehta, aged 25, committed suicide on Monday at her residence in Indore. As per reports depression and work-related stress led the young actress to take the fatal step by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her bedroom. The police discovered her body on Tuesday morning. Preksha featured in Crime Patrol, Meri Durga and Laal Ishq on television and was also seen in Akshay Kumar's and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja's PadMan. A theatre artist, Preksha penned down spine-chilling posts on Instagram and Facebook days before her suicide. 

Soon after the news broke out, television celebrities mourned the loss of the young actress. Karan Kundrra, on Twitter, wrote a hard-hitting note talking about mental health. ''Sabse bura hota hai sapno ka marr jaana’ another television actor has committed suicide and this is what she posted last on her Instagram #prekshamehta this is extremely sad! You were so young.. you had your entire life in front of you! We need to talk more about mental health..," wrote Karan.

Arjun Bijlani offered condolence to Preksha's family. "Heard another actor committed suicide . Condolences to the family. #PrekshaMehta rip," he tweeted. Surbhi Chandna was 'devastated' while Divya Agarwal expressed grief too. 

Preksha, hours before hanging herself, wrote, 'Sabse bura hota hai sapno ka marr jaana' indicating that lack of work amid Coronavirus lockdown forced her to take the harsh step. Preksha's suicide is the second incident of a television actor committing suicide during the lockdown. On May 15, Manmeet Grewal, seen in shows like Aadat Se Majboor and Kuldeepak took his life due to financial issues.
