Coronavirus lockdown: Now Shaktimaan all set to make a comeback to small screen due to popular demand!

Although the Coronavirus lockdown has brought the country to a standstill a silver lining is that many well-loved and iconic serials are returning to the small screen. On huge public demand Doordarshan started airing Ramayan and Mahabharat once again. However, the demands have not stopped only for these iconic serials but the channel has resorted to netizens’ frenzy and agreed to bring back shows such as Chanakya and Shaktimaan as well during the ongoing 21-day lockdown to combat Coronavirus outbreak in the country. 

In a statement released by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, it said that the channel will be re-telecasting five shows- Chanakya, Upanishad Ganga, Shaktimaan, Shriman Shrimati and Krishna Kali. Shahrukh Khan’s Circus has also started airing once again.  Actor Mukesh Khanna who played the superhero Shaktimaan in the beloved serial teased his fans with a tweet and said that wait for the announcement.

Shaktimaan, featuring Mukesh Khanna, will be aired for an hour daily on DD National at 1 pm while Chandraprakash Dwivedi directed Chanakya and Upanishad Ganga will be telecast daily in the afternoon time bands of DD Bharati from the first week of April. 

Apart from Ramayan, Mahabharat, and Circus, other shows that began airing from Sunday are detective series Byomkesh Bakshi, Hum Hain Na and Tu Tota Main Maina.
