‘Naagin 4’ review: Nia Sharma and Jasmine Bhasin starrer gets mixed response, fans term the show as 'old wine in new bottle'

In the past few months, the buzz surrounding Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin 4 had been pretty high! Since the show had received positive response for all the last three seasons, the expectation for the new one was obviously high. The popular supernatural drama premiered on December 14, 2019 starring Nia Sharma, Jasmin Bhasin and Vijayendra Kumeria in the lead roles.

After watching the first two episodes, one cannot deny the fact that the makers have stuck to the same formula for success. This season too, the story revolves around love and revenge. The first episode begins with Maanyata (essayed by Sayantani Ghosh) and the naagin princess goes against her family and marries Keshav (Shaleen Bhanot), who belongs to her father’s employee's family. Later, Keshav and his family are killed by Vaishali (played by Geetanjali Tikekar), who is good at performing evil acts. Manyata somehow manages to save herself and her daughter, and vows to take revenge of her husband's death. The story takes a 25-year leap when Vijayendra, Jasmin and Nia Sharma make their entry.

Vijayendra plays the role of the main villain’s son, Dev. On the other hand, Nia plays the lead role of Brinda who is an ichchadhari naagin. Her relation with Nayantara (Jasmine Bhasin) will be revealed in the upcoming episodes. The acting skills of all the actors are up to the mark and to say the least, all are quite impressive!

Unfortunately, the show couldn’t live up to the expectation of few fans since they expected little different concept this time. Although a few liked the story and the actors' performances, some of them didn't like the show and termed it as 'old wine in a new bottle'. Here's what some of the fans tweeted:

Well, all we can say is that the first two episodes have received mixed response from the audience. However, one cannot forget that it’s a Ekta Kapoor show, the lady knows how to keep her audience glued to the screen, isn’t it?
