Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani recently met Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates at the launch of Bhartiya Poshan Krishi Kosh held in New Delhi. On her Instagram page, she shared a picture with the billionaire. While captioning the picture, Smriti joked on herself as well as on Bill Gates as both are dropouts.
She wrote in Hindi, “Soch rahe hain padhai poori ki nahin, aage kya karein (Thinking since we didn't complete our studies, what should we do in future?)". (sic)
Smriti’s close friend and producer Ekta Kapoor could not stop herself from commenting on it. Reminding Smriti of her Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi days, Ekta wrote, "Bosss! Tulsi kyunki abh bhi yaaad hai......pls waaapsi Karein. (Boss, we still remember Tulsi of Kyunki...... please give it back.)"
During the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Smriti had declared to the Election Commission that she is not a graduate. Her poll affidavit mentions "Three year degree course not completed," in brackets. On the other hand, Bill Gates too is a college dropout. He dropped out of Harvard after two years to focus on Microsoft - the company that has made him the richest man on earth with a net worth of $110 billion.
