Late actress Pratyusha Banerjee's ex-boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh has been booked for allegedly cheating people with lakhs of money by promising the guests that singer Ankit Tiwari will perform at a New Year’s party organised by him at a Juhu hotel. However, when the singer did not turn up because of non-payment of dues, the guests vandalised the hotel and the staff stopped serving food and drinks to them.

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the Santacruz Police station received a complaint against Rahul by the hotel after it suffered loss worth over Rs 6 lakh. Moreover, an FIR was filed against Rahul for cheating and not fulfilling the demands that were promised to the guests. Apparently, he walked away from the event without settling the bill and had collected Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 per person as entry fee.

A police officer told the daily, "Everything was normal till 12.30 am. Then the crowd got violent. It was promised that a Bollywood singer would perform, but when no singer was seen, guests began vandalising the property. A complaint was received and an FIR registered against Singh on charges of cheating."

Rahul, however, defended himself by saying that he will be filing a complaint against the hotel and its staff.

Meanwhile, singer Ankit Tiwari will also be questioned in the matter although he had tweeted a day prior to the bash that he won't be performing at the event.
