Akshay Kumar, Rohit Shetty, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh have managed to bring alive theatres after a dull spell that lasted for almost 2 years. Their actioner Sooryavanshi has set the cash counter ringing and boards of 'Housefull' have made a comeback. The film released on November 5 and the audience celebrated Diwali with Team Sooryavanshi in theatres.
After kicking off on a great note, Sooryavanshi held itself well on the second day in cinema halls. According to a trade report, the actioner collected around Rs. 24.50 crores at the box office on Saturday. Since it was Bhaidooj, the report estimated that the drop could be only 5-10%.
According to trade reports, Sooryavanshi opened in theatres with an estimated collection of 26 crores on Friday. Despite a clash with the Hollywood film Eternals and Rajinikanth's Annaatthe, Sooryavanshi is attracting the audience to theatres.
Sooryavanshi is about Veer Sooryavanshi, an Anti-Terrorism Squad chief, who takes down the baddies, along with supercops Bajirao Singham and Simmba Bhalerao. Katrina plays Akshay's wife.
Sooryavanshi, produced by Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Picturez, Dharma Productions and Cape of Good Films, is successfully running in theatres at present.
