Ranveer Singh's Simmba sets the box office on fire as it earns over Rs 75 crore within three days

Ranveer Singh's Simmba has set the box office on fire as the film is faring exceptionally well and has earned Rs 75.11 crore within three days of its release. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Simmba stars Ranveer as cop Sangram Bhalerao and opened to fantastic reviews on December 28.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures, saying that Simmba had a fantastic weekend and is expected to "record solid numbers" on December 31 and January 1 - during the new year holiday. Simmba has emerged as Ranveer's biggest opening ever as the film collected Rs 20.72 crore on the first day of its release.

Simmba is particularly faring well in Mumbai theatres as the film earned Rs 29.01 crore from the Maharashtra capital itself.

Simmba highlights several issues including the empowerment of women and fighting crime against women. A remake of Telugu film Temper, Simmba casts Sara Ali Khan opposite Ranveer. It is Sara’s second film after Kedarnath, which marked her debut in Bollywood.

Meanwhile, Kannada actor Yash’s film KGF or Kolar Gold Fields has been impressing audiences as the Hindi version of the film has earned Rs 26.70 crore at the box office.

KGF has been directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur. It released in five languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam. It released on December 21.
