Rajinikanth’s and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 sets the box office on fire; earns Rs 122.50 crore

Rajinikanth’s and Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 has set the box office on fire as the film has earned Rs 122.50 crore within six days of its release. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures, saying that the film is earning well on weekdays as well.

2.0 released on November 29 and earned Rs 20.25 crore on its opening day, Rs 18 crore on Friday, Rs 25 crore on Saturday and Rs 34 crore on Sunday. On Monday and Tuesday, 2.0 recorded Rs 13.75 crore and Rs 11.50 crore respectively. From the numbers, it is quite clear that the film fared well over the weekend.

2.0 is a multilingual film and released in Tamil and Telugu apart from Hindi. Both Telugu and Tamil versions are faring well since the first day of the film’s release. The film is doing good business abroad as well. Meanwhile, 2.0 producers released a statement on Tuesday, saying that the film will release in China in May 2019.

2.0 is a science fiction action film, written and directed by S. Shankar, co-written by B. Jeyamohan, and produced by A. Subaskaran. The film serves as a sequel to the 2010 Tamil film Enthiran, while Rajinikanth reprises his role of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti in it. Akshay appears as the antagonist in the film.
