2.0 Box Office: Rajinikanth’s and Akshay Kumar’s film off to a flying start, earns Rs 20.25 crore on opening day

The Hindi version of Rajinikanth’s much-awaited film 2.0 earned Rs 20.25 crore on the first day of its release as it recorded fantastic collections on its opening day. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures, adding that the film released on a weekday and during a “non-festival period”, yet took a flying start. Advance bookings opened late but it has impressed audiences.

2.0 is a multilingual film and released in Tamil and Telugu apart from Hindi. Both Telugu and Tamil versions earned Rs 20 crore each. Reports suggest that the film is doing good business abroad as well. So all in all, it’s a great start for the film.

2.0 is a science fiction action film, written and directed by S. Shankar, co-written by B. Jeyamohan, and produced by A. Subaskaran. The film serves as a sequel to the 2010 Tamil film Enthiran, while Rajinikanth reprises his role of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti in it.

2.0 released on November 29 worldwide.
