Dharma Productions' latest offering, Dhadak, starring Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor, has garnered Rs 100 cr (gross) worldwide at the Box Office. The film was released on July 20 to good numbers and has been going well at the ticket window ever since. The film got a thumbs up from both the audience and the critics. It has collected an amount of Rs 63. 39 crore in India, which is the highest ever for any Hindi film featuring debutants in the lead.
The film had raked in Rs 8. 71 crore on its opening day and Rs 33. 76 crore in its first weekend. Dhadak achieving this feat the Box Office is a great deal considering many other anticipated Hindi films released later but could not sustain the mark. Soorma, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3, Nawabzaade failed to hold audience in theatres. However, the Hollywood biggie that released last week, Mission: Impossible 6 -- Fallout, starring Tom Cruise, showed some good results. Dhadak, yet, seems unperturbed.
Sharing the news of the film minting Rs 100 crore worldwide, producer Karan Johar took to social media and shared:
Earlier, he expressed his love for both Ishaan and Janhvi on social media by tweeting:
The two new stars in Bollywood are currently basking in their newly found success. They are attending events, celebrating the success with friends, holidaying and spending time with family.
More congratulations to the team!
