Bigg Boss 13: From an underdog player to one of the strongest contestants, why finalist Asim Riaz is actually the ‘hukum ka ikka’

Asim Riaz gained a lot of popularity and fame from Big Boss 13 and gained innumerable followers. He started his journey on the show as the "vanilla" boy, flaunting his chiselled body and rapping skills, before gradually morphing into the angry young man of Bigg Boss with his constant verbal (and aggressive) spats with the other housemates. But do you know who Asim was before entering Salman Khan’s controversial show? Well, he may be called the Hukkam Ki Ikka inside the house today but the model has had his own struggle in his professional life.

PeepingMoon is here to present our top 5 contestants of this season of Bigg Boss and well, Asim has very deservingly made it to the list.

Here’s looking back at the BB13 contestant’s journey:

Model

Asim is not just a good looking man! He is for sure much more than that. He started his career with modelling back in 2012 and went on the become one of the highest-paid models in India. He made his name in the modelling industry with a dream of entering Bollywood.

Television ads

In 2018, Asim started to become popular in the industry by appearing in several television ads. He worked with some of the very big brands like blackberry and made his mark in the advertisement world.

Fitness Freak

It is not an unknown fact that Asim is a true fitness freak. So much so that the model gained attention for his chiselled body when he first entered the industry. It even helped him in his career as he got many modelling projects because of his toned physique.

Relationship with model Shruti Tuli

It is known to all that Asim was dating co-model Shruti Tuli before entering the BB house. Even though not much was known about their relationship before but as soon as the model turned actor became a BB contestant, every tiny detail from his past relationship went viral on social media.

Foreign Accent

Even Salman Khan could not help but notice this Jammu boy’s foreign accent as soon as he entered the BB stage. Asim was abroad for around a year before his entry in BB and that’s where he got his foreign accent. He made quite some news on his first day in the BB house as Salman mocked him and called his accent ‘fake’.

Bigg Boss Journey

Asim’s journey in Bigg Boss started off on a very normal note but what took everyone’s attention was his ‘angry young man’ attitude he showed whenever he was poked by co-contestants. The young model gaining a lot of popularity when he became friends with Sidharth Shukla and entered a group of 4 along with Arti Singh and Shehnaaz Gill. He was appreciated for his loyalty towards his friends and his caring nature. But like everyone else even his journey took a U-turn when he got into a massive fight with his ‘brother from another mother’ Sidharth.  Asim grabbed headlines for his split with Siddarth and constant violent and aggressive fights with him. His relationship from being friends to enemies with Shukla got him several fans that stood by him like a pillar of strength each time he was targeted inside the house.

Asim rose high on fame when wild card Himanshi Khurana entered the house and he lost his heart to her. Not only this, Asim did not even hesitate to propose to the Punjabi singer on national television. This raised several eyebrows as the news of Asim being in a relationship with model Shruti Tuli went viral, all thanks to Vikas Gupta! Asim faced a lot of backlash for expressing his love to Himanshi despite dating a girl outside the house but all rumours were set at rest when Asim clarified that he is absolutely single and Shruti and he had broken up long back. From his controversial friendship with Sidharth to his romance with Himanshi, every move he made took him close to winning the show. He was also the first one to enter the Elite Club and win immunity for a week.

Today, Asim has the highest trending tweets on twitter and an army of over a million fans. And that’s exactly why he undoubtedly deserves to be in top 5.
