But Sansa refuses her protection, after which Brienne and Poddrick leave, but follow Baelish and Sansa in secret.

Arya reaches Bravos and gets accepted into the House of Black and White by Jaqen who calls himself and his colleagues ‘no one’. She is asked to let go of all her belongings in the river, in order to keep her true identity hidden. After this, she is taken to the chamber, consisting of all the faces that have died in the House of Black and White. *shudders*

Stannis wants the Wildlings to fight with his army against Roose. Jon tries to convince Mance to accept the offer instead of losing his life and putting his people in jeopardy. Mance refuses to accept, at which Stannis commands to burn him alive. Not being able to take the sight, Jon ends his suffering with an arrow to his heart. This scene tho!

Tyrion agreed to accompany Varys to join hands with Daenerys. They arrive at Volantis, where Ser Jorah recognizes the dwarf and kidnaps him to take him to the Queen. He thinks of Tyrion as a means to redeem himself before his Khaleesi.

The Shift

The Sparrows accuse Loras Tyrell of homosexuality and imprison him. Olenna and Margaery are enraged by this and confront Cersei for the same, stating that this will cost them their alliance. During the inquest, Margaery and Loras both deny his homosexuality. A male prostitute contradicts their testimonies and in consequence, Margaery is arrested for lying to the Gods.

Stannis offers Jon lordship of Winterfell if he helps him defeat Roose Bolton, but he refuses to leave the Night’s Watch. On the flip side, Sam nominates Jon as a candidate amongst the others for the Lord Commander’s position, which he wins by Aemon’s casting vote.  You go, Team Snow!

On becoming the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, Snow casts names of the new Rangers, when Slynt contradicts and disagrees with him. In consequence, Jon executes Slynt himself. Snow keeps his promise to the Wildlings and leaves for Hardhome with Tormund and some rangers. In his absence, Aemon dies of illness while Sam and Gilly consummate their relationship.

Baelish takes Sansa to Winterfell in order to get her married to Ramsey Bolton, to cement an alliance with Roose Bolton without the knowledge of the Lannisters. Stannis then sends Davos to Castle Black to seek help, while reluctantly allowing Melissandre to sacrifice Shireen. After the ritual, where the little girl was burned alive, Stannis’ wife, Selyse hangs herself, ending her life.

In Mareen, Loraq appeals to Daenerys to reopen the fighting pits, a Mareen tradition, while the sons of Harpy ambush the Unsullied in the citadel, injuring Greyworm in consequence and killing Selmy in the stead. Daenerys agrees to Loraq’s appeal and decides to marry him to facilitate peace in Mareen.

The twist

In Bravos, Arya takes the identity of ‘Lana’, a girl who sells oysters by bay. H’Ghar tells her to learn everything about a man who sells insurances but has fraud connections. She is instructed to observe him carefully and later, poison him. One day, Arya spots Mace Tyrell and Trant talking to  the insurance man, which seems absurd to her. Later that day, Arya uses a face from the chamber to infiltrate a brothel and kill Trant to avenge her swordmaster, Syrio Forel.

Daenerys accepts Tyrion on her council but exiles Jorah again. Jorah goes back to Quagaz and seeks his permission to fight in the pits. Varys sailed to Mareen to help Tyrion establish peace. One day at the fighting pit, Daenerys and her followers get surrounded by the Sons of Harpy, when Drogon sweeps in, lets Daenerys mount on him and flies away from everybody’s sight. Awestruck!

Stannis’ army abandons him Selyse’s death. In Hardhome, Snow and Tormund convince about five thousand wildlings to join them before the town is attacked by an army of wights. Snow kills a White Walker with his Valyrian-steel sword. As he, Tormund and the other survivors sail away, they witness the Night King reanimating the deceased wildlings as wights. Cue chills!

Jaime, Myrcella, Bronn and Tristan sail from Dorne, not before Ellaria kisses Myrcella goodbye. The Baratheon girl succumbs to the poison on her lips on her way back, which was revealed to be laced on Ellaria’s lips.

At Winterfell, Sansa tries to escape when she runs into Myranda, Ramsay’s former lover. She tries to kill her but gets killed by Theon instead, after which they flee from the site.
