‘Any major life change is challenging, painful and difficult but the work is cathartic,’ says Dia Mirza on her separation from husband Sahil Sangha

Dia Mirza has had an eventful year. She was on a personal high as she dabbled with the webspace as an actor and a producer in Kaafir and Mind the Malhotras respectively while also had a tumultuous personal life as she announced her separation from husband Sahil Sangha. In an interview to a leading daily, Dia spoke about the ending of her five years of marriage and also spoke about her production company, professional high and social issues.

Talking about her separation and how she dealt with it, Dia said, “Any major life change is challenging, painful and difficult but the work is cathartic. This is what helps you grow and keeps your pursuit of happiness alive. And I am fortunate that the kind of work that I do gives me the opportunity to deal with the pain better. I want to just go out there and keep finding my voice and keep empowering myself and others.”

Dia is setting up her own production house which she has named One India Stories. Talking about why she specifically chose this name, she said, “I chose this name because one means everybody and India has my name. I want to backstories that connect to all of us, bring people together, influence and impact positive change to grow to learn and share that discovery and learning.”
