Sidharth Malhotra reveals his take on failure, says 'I may produce films' in the future

Sidharth Malhotra is awaiting the release of Jabariya Jodi, co-starring Parineeti Chopra. Apart from that, he has two back-to-back films, Marjaavaan with Tara Sutaria and then Shershaah - the Vikram Batra biopic, with Kiara Advani. While Sid has been around for over a decade now, he has seen his share of ups and downs in showbiz. However, he thinks that the failures and success have only made him grow. In an interaction with a leading daily, Sidharth said that just like everyone else, actors too have good days and bad days at work.

"Of course, it comes with added pressure as there’s a lot riding on an actor in terms of budget and performance. But we are here for the long run and despite some films not going my way, I have continued to pick up challenging roles. Coming from outside the industry, with nothing to back me as an actor, I can say I have only grown." he added. Sidharth further talked about entering the mass action hero zone with Marjaavaan and revealed that he had to gain muscle and put on weight for the role. "It’s not quiet and sombre like my earlier characters. It’s a quintessential love story and the emotion works for me, but the packaging is massy, with a lot of action," he was quoted as saying.

When prodded if he has plans to direct a film in the future, he quipped, "I haven’t really thought of turning director as I am enjoying my space as an actor. More than direction, I may produce films." Meanwhile, his next Jabariya Jodi, promises to offer a funny, vibrant and engaging story while taking a stand on dowry and groom kidnapping, which is rampant in Bihar. It will release on August 2.
