#MenToo: Karan Oberoi starts a difficult but important conversation in his latest song titled 'Rishton Ka Vyapaar'

Model-singer-actor Karan Oberoi was arrested by Mumbai Police on May 6 for allegedly raping and blackmailing a 34-year-old woman. In the first FIR lodged on May 4, the victim had made the sensational allegations that Oberoi had raped her in 2017, on the pretext of marriage, filmed the act and then extorted money from her under the threat of making the video viral. However, over a month after he was arrested, Karan was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on June 7. Deputy Commissioner of Police Manjunath Shinge confirmed the woman's arrest by the Oshiwara Police for filing a false complaint against Karan and orchestrating an assault on herself on May 25.

Ever since then, Karan has shared his ordeal on different platforms and has emerged as the poster boy of #MenToo movement. Now, he has released a single as well, titled Rishton Ka Pyaar, wherein he shares his experience an endeavour to start a difficult but important conversation. Sung and written by Karan himself, the song is beautiful and heartfelt, which aids in bringing out the essence of the track altogether.

For the unversed, Karan has acted in several television serials, including Swabhimaan, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin and Saaya. He was also one of the vocalists of 'A Band of Boys', an Indipop boy band.
