74th Cannes Film Festival: Masoom Minawala 'represents India on a global scale' wearing a Manish Malhotra saree on Day 2

After wowing with her Day 1 yellow prom gown by Lia Stublla, Masoom Minawala was back with a bang on Day 2 at the Cannes International Film Festival 2021. The Indian fashion blogger walked the red carpet for the second time at the prestigious event after 2019. After making many jaws drop in a yellow outfit with a thigh-high slit, Masoom honoured her Indian roots by picking up a saree for her red carpet appearance.

Masoom, living her 'dream of representing India on a global scale', chose to wear a 'Pearl White Sequins Swathed Saree' from Manish Malhotra's collection. She teamed it up with a dramatic blouse with floor-length cape sleeves. Masoom completed her look with jewellery from Boucheron. Meagan Concessio was behind Masoom's look.

Sharing pictures from the red carpet, Masoom wrote, "For me walking the red carpet has little to do with the fame and glamour quotient of it. I know it might be hard to believe but it’s painstakingly true. For me it’s a celebration of my work… of the strength, persistence… and to some level knowing that I’m one step closer to my mission of taking Indian fashion to the world… for me to have the honour to be at the world’s largest cinematic event, wearing India, being India, celebrating India."

She added, "So this one’s to MY dream of representing India on a global scale… & walking this very glamorous red carpet is the most incredible journey towards it. But it’s the journey… it’s not the destination. And what better than our iconic silhouette, the saree, to be my companion in this wonderful journey. Thankful & blessed."
