Ending the fashion famine, MTV’s Video Music Awards 2020 also known as VMAs presented us with a sartorial soiree that our eyes were longing for. Being the first-ever major show since the pandemic of COVID-19, we had nothing but high hopes on the fashion front and oh boy, it did not let us down. From modish ensembles to downright dramatic couture, this soiree had it all.
Raising the sartorial bar of the soiree, was our OG Drama Mama Lady Gaga who literally made us go gaga over her Social Distancing appropriate couture. Like, we can’t even cope!
OVER THE MOON
Keeping in mind the pandemic situation, Gaga opted for social distancing couture, but not without her quirky, I-can’t-believe-she-did-that touch. Posing on the white carpet, the pop star turned actress donned a metallic anorak dress from Area’s 2020 collection. Textured pleats teamed with a billowy bustle, this piece was high on the drama just like its mama! Known to flaunt show-stealer accessories, Gaga didn’t let us down this time either. She claimed the carpet with her statement face shield that could either qualify as a fishbowl, an astronaut’s helmet. Never saw this one coming!
Just when we thought we couldn’t recover from this, she dropped four more lookbombs. Oh my!
For her next look, the pop sensation changed into a colourful and hypnotic Iris van Herpen couture that was high on fringes. Just when we thought we would be allured with her aesthetically soothing number, our eyed spotted her hot pink latex mask that covered her entire face.
THE QUIRK QUEEN
Making quirk her DNA, Gaga took a princess-inspired jewel-toned gown from Christopher John Roger’s FW2020 collection and gave it a spunky touch. That tusky face mask infused with embellishments made sure that all eyes stayed on her.
BLING GAME: STRONG!
Bringing oodles of shine and shimmer on the stage, Gaga made for a scintillating diva in Maison Valentino’s haute couture and MaisonMet’s metallic mesh mask with wings of an angel.
That divine look soon transformed into a grungy one with a silver statement jacket from Candice Cuoco, a Manuel Albarran bra and choker, Maisonmet face armour with edgy thorns.
Every time that we thought, this is it, this is the best Gaga VMA look so far, this diva outdid herself.
Latex Vex Clothing outfit and digital face mask. Whoa, we need a minute!
Raising the benchmark for all things dramatic, Gaga slayed in a Deadly Fetish Couture ensemble along with her digital facemask.
FAUXY AND SEXY
Soaring up the heat on stage, the stunner opted for a fauxy BCalla catsuit for her performance.
AND FINALLY, BRINING IN THE DRAMA
Nothing's ordinary when it comes to Gaga and she has proven it on very given occasion. Elevating her casual top with a studded face mask and dramatically high platform boots from Pleasers, she posed happily with her trophies.
Stylist Nichola Formichetti, take a bow and go home everyone, Gaga just shut the show!
