Makers of 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl' reveal what went behind creating the world of Janhvi Kapoor's film in a BTS video

Sharan Sharma's directorial debut Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl premiered on Netflix on August 12, 2020. Featuring Janhvi Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Ayesha Raza Mishra, Manav Vij and Viineet Kumar, the biographical film based on the life of the first Indian female airforce pilot in combat Gunjan Saxena opened to rave reviews. As the film is basking in admiration from critics as well the audience, the makers took viewers on a ride to show what went behind shooting key sequences. 

In a video released by Netflix, director Sharan, Production Designer Aditya Kanwar, Gunjan and DOP Manush Nandan spoke about recreating the world of an IAF officer in combat. Sharan, crediting Gunjan for her constant guidance, expert advice and inputs, told that it was an honour for the team to work with Marc Wolff who assisted them with the aerial sequences that were shot in Georgia. Actress Janhvi, who played the titular role, called sitting in the chopper the 'most emotional thing'. She went on to say that the experience of working on Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl was personal for all. As Janhvi said 'this is the best team ever', Sharan thanked them for creating the film with love.
