Selena Gomez is returning to TV acting. She has boarded the cast of Hulu’s new comedy show Only Murders in the Building. The series also stars Steve Martin and Martin Short in the lead along with Selena. She will also executive produce the project with her co-stars.
Created by Martin and John Hoffman, the series follows three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one, the streamer said in a statement. Hulu’s head of originals, Craig Erwich, spoke to an online portal about the project and said, “I heard the pitch on Wednesday, and it was the best hour I had all week. It’s really special, surprisingly emotional. It’s really modern and self-referential about podcasts and murders, it’s got some great surprises. When they pull this off, it’s going to be really special."

Selena is a big true-crime fan in real life as well. She recently attended CrimeCon Chicago in February with her mother to help solve an unsolved mystery. CrimeCon shared a picture of the actress and wrote, “We were honored to host @selenagomez and her mom @mandyteefey at CrowdSolve this weekend. They were perfect detectives who, along with hundreds of others, helped bring peace to the Sova family."
Only Murders in the Building is the latest collaboration between Martin and Short whose friendship began 35 years ago. The duo recently went on a comedy tour together, called Now You See Them, Soon You Won’t Tour.
