Akshay Kumar's digital debut 'The End' to go on floors in the latter half of 2021

Akshay Kumar, in March 2019, announced that he will be making his much-awaited digital debut with Amazon Prime Video's action thriller The End. Touted as one of the OTT giant's biggest projects, the series was scheduled to go on floors in 2020. However, thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, the plan was disturbed and led to a further delay. Now, as the industry is gearing up to resume work, the makers of the show will wait till normalcy returns and Akshay completes his prior commitments. Talking to a leading daily about The End, producer Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment told that they are hoping to take the series on floors by the second half of 2021.

"The show was to roll in December tentatively, with Akshay joining us in January 2021. But, it has been four months into the lockdown, and it will be a few more months before normalcy is restored. Akshay, too, has other commitments. So, we are hoping to get into production by the second half of 2021," Vikram told.

The End was to be shot in India and abroad, however, due to the pandemic, the makers will now take a final call on the location 'after the situation stabilises'. Akshay, for The End's event held in 2019, stunned people by setting himself on fire on stage. Performing daredevilry stunts, the actor upped the excitement for the series.
