Mumbai Police sheds light on 'fake Whatsapp messages' but with Jaideep Ahlawat's 'Paatal Lok' connection

Amid the ongoing Coronavirus lockdown, Mumbai Police along with doctors, nurses and essential service authorities, is working day in and out to ensure people don't step out unless of an emergency. While Mumbai is the novel COVID-19 hotspot, the Police department is leaving no stone unturned to protect the citizens. The police department, in order to spread the word of safety effectively, devised an interesting way. Making optimum use of social media, the department has been converting popular dialogues from Bollywood and Hollywood films, including web content. Taking the series forward, Mumbai Police utilised one of the apt dialogues from the recently released web show Paatal Lok.

Mumbai Police, with the help of Jaideep Ahlawat's character Hathiram Chaudhary's dialogue, shed light on fake rumours that are spreading through Whatsapp. The dialogue used belongs to the scene where Hathiram is telling his subordinate about the existence of three loks, that is swarg, dharti and paatal. He further adds that though the three are mentioned shastra, he read it on Whatsapp.

Paatal Lok is created by Sudip Sharma and directed by Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy. Anushka Sharma, along with her brother Karnesh Sharma has produced it under their home banner named Clean Slate Films. The 9-episode series is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video from May 15. The show, apart from Jaideep features Abhishek Banerjee, Neeraj Kabi, Gul Panag, Vipin Sharma, Swastika Mukherjee, Rajesh Sharma, Ankur Vikal, Niharika Lyra Dutta, Ishwak Singh and Jagjit Sandhu.
