Four days before their 4th wedding anniversary, Tollywood's much-loved couple Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya announced their separation. The actors, who fell in love on the set of Ye Maaya Chesave, dated each other for years before tying the knot in 2017. While several news reports claiming various alleged reasons behind their separation surfaced, Samantha and Chaitanya haven't disclosed details.
According to an entertainment portal's report, Nagarjuna opened up about his son Chaitanya and former daughter-in-law Samantha's separation in an interview with another publication. The pan-India star revealed that it was the actress's decision to file for the divorce as she wanted it. "Naga Chaitanya accepted her decision but he was much worried about me, what I would think and what would happen to family’s reputation," Nagarjuna claimed in an interview.
As per the portal's report, Nagarjuna added, "Naga Chaitanya consoled me very much as he thought I will be worried. They both have been together for 4 years in the marriage life but no problem like this came between them. Both were so close and I don’t know how it came down to this decision. They even celebrated 2021’s New Year together, it seems that the problems have arisen after that."
Samantha, who had shared a statement about her separation on Instagram, has now deleted it. Chaitanya has retained the post on his page.
