Samantha Ruth Prabhu has officially separated from her husband Naga Chaitanya. Putting an end to speculations, the couple, formerly known as ChaySam, announced their separation with a statement on October 2. Now, Samantha, who changed her surname from Prabhu to Akkineni post marriage, has once again modified her name on social media.
Days after issuing a statement regarding the separation, the Tollywood actress has changed her name on her Instagram and Twitter handles. From 'S', she has now changed it to Samantha. She hasn't used any surname as of now. The change was noticed on Sunday.
Rumours of Samantha and Chaitanya's separation gained ground after the former dropped Akkineni surname from social media handles. She simply used an 'S'. Though the former couple refrained from talking about it in public, fans noticed that all is not well between them. Recently, Samantha remained absent from parties hosted by Chaitanya and his father Nagarjuna. This added fuel to the rumours of separation.
Finally, the news came out when Samantha and Chaitanya issued a statement that read, "To all our well wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay/Sam and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on."
Reportedly, Samantha has refused to accept Rs. 200 crores alimony from Chaitanya and his family.
