Prabhas and Prashanth Neel are collaborating on the upcoming film, Salaar. The big-ticket project was announced on December 2, 2020. On January 15, 2021, the mahurat pooja was held in Hyderabad. Today, the makers of Salaar announced the name of the female lead. Shruti Haasan has come on board and will play the lead opposite Prabhas.
Today, on Shruti's 35th birthday, Prabhas and the team of Salaar welcomed her. The actor, sharing her picture on Instagram, wrote, "Happiest Birthday @shrutzhaasan ! Looking forward to working with you on #Salaar"

The production house, Hombale Films, wrote, "Wish you a very happy birthday @shrutzhaasan We're ecstatic to have you onboard for #Salaar. Can't wait to see you sizzle on the screen."
Salaar will be bankrolled by Hombale Films and is said to be along the lines of Prashanth's directorial debut Ugramm (2014) which revolved around a hero who fights against the thugs for a social cause.
