Kollywood comedian Vadivel Balaji passes away due to heart attack; Dhanush, Aishwarya Rajessh and others offer condolences

Renowned Kollywood actor Vadivel Balaji breathed his last on Thursday. The Tamil comedian, 42, passed away at Chennai's Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital. As per reports, he was undergoing treatment and suffered a massive heart attack. Vadivel Balaji was known for his comic performances in television shows and also did Tamil films. While he was reportedly admitted to the hospital due to poor health, his fans were hopeful that he will bounce back. However, his untimely demise has come across as a major shock to the entire Kollywood industry.

Soon after the news of his demise broke, Dhanush, on Twitter, offered his condolence. "Deeply saddened and disturbed by the sudden demise of a great talent, Vadivel Balaji. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to his family," he tweeted.

Aishwarya Rajessh shared a picture of Vadivel Balaji and wrote, "RIP #Vadivelbalaji"

Actors Sathish and Soori were among the first ones to offer condolences. 

 

According to a leading publication, Vadivel Balaji was on ventilator support. He was reportedly shifted to a government hospital due to financial issues. Reports suggest that the comedian who featured in Nayanthara's Kolamaavu Kokila faced financial problems during the lockdown. Vadivel Balaji is survived by his wife, a son and daughter.

Born in Madurai, Vadivel Balaji made his debut in Tamil cinema with a film titled En Raasavin Manasile in 1991.
