Rajinikanth receives bomb threat, Chennai Police conducts thorough search at his residence

Superstar Rajinikanth has reportedly received a bomb threat from an unidentified person. According to the local news channel, the incident came to light when Chennai Police received an anonymous call that a bomb was planted at the actor’s residence at Chennai’s Poes Garden. Alerted by the call, the police are conducting a thorough search operation at his residence with sniffer dogs and bomb detectors.

The search operation has resulted in a huge ruckus at Poes Garden with fans and common people gathering amid the spike of coronavirus cases in the city. However, the police will ascertain the authenticity of the call only after their search is complete. The police are trying to trace the caller whom they allege have made similar threats in the past as well.

On the work front, Rajinikanth was last seen in Darbar that was directed by AR Murugadoss. It stared Nayanthara in the lead and Suniel Shetty as the main antagonist. Prateik Babbar, Nivetha Thomas and Yogi Babu also starred in the film in pivotal roles.

Rajinikanth will be next seen in Annaatthe which is being directed by Siruthai Siva. The film also stars four female leads - Khushbu, Meena, Keerthy Suresh, and Nayanthara. Annaatthe is bankrolled by Sun Pictures and music is being composed by Anirudh Ravichander
