Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja breathes his last at the age of 39 after suffering a heart attack

Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja breathed his last at the age of 39 today (June 7) in Bengaluru. According to reports, the promising actor suffered a massive heart attack after complaining of chest pain on Saturday. He was taken to Apollo Specialty Hospital, Jayanagar, this afternoon but was declared dead on arrival. Talking to a leading publication regarding Chiranjeevi's death, Dr. Govindaiah Yatheesh, the unit head of the hospital, told that the actor's family hasn't requested for an autopsy and his body is handed over to the police. 

"Actor Chiranjeevi Sarja was talking to his father at 1.10 pm. He was sweating and collapsed. It is around the same time they left the house. At 2.20 pm he reached Apollo Hospital in Jayanagar but had died on the way. The cause of death seems cardiac. But the family has not requested for an autopsy. We have handed over the body to the police. They're yet to leave the hospital premises," Dr. Govindaiah Yatheesh told.

Chiranjeevi started his acting career in 2009 with Vayuputra and received the Innovative Film Award for Best Debut (Male) for his performance. He has done films like Chirru, Chandralekha, Aatagara, Ram-Leela, Amma I Love You. His last outing was Shivarjuna which released on March 12, 2020, but had to be pulled down due to the nationwide lockdown. Chiranjeevi is survived by his wife Meghana Raj. 

Soon after the news broke, celebrities poured in their condolences on social media.
