Mardaani 3 Movie Review : Rani Mukerji Redefines the Cop Universe

Film : Mardaani 3

Cast : Rani Mukerji, Mallika Prasad, Mikhail Yawalkar, Janki Bodiwala

Director : Abhiraj Minawala

Rating : 4 Moons

Storyline

Mardaani 3 brings Shivani Shivaji Roy back in her most disturbing and ruthless case yet. When underage girls begin vanishing across Delhi and Bulandshahr, a shocking statistic reveals how deep this child trafficking crisis runs. The case turns urgent when a diplomat’s daughter is kidnapped, and Shivani is called to the NIA to take charge. Her investigation leads her to a terrifying network run by the sinister Amma (Mallika Prasad), where kidnapped girls are being used for a horrifying medical business linked to a cancer vaccine. Alongside her saathi Fatima (Janki Bodiwala), Shivani enters a brutal cat-and-mouse chase. During the case, she meets Ramanujan (Mikhail Yawalkar), also known as Rama. What happens next and how she solves the case is something you’ll discover in the film,  but trust me, Shivani is as ruthless, gritty, and gripping as ever.

Acting

Why, why, why doesn’t Rani Mukerji do films more often despite having such rare talent? With this franchise, she proves why we truly need a female cop universe. Shivani Shivaji Roy is terrifying for villains and inspiring for the audience. Janki Bodiwala continues to impress with her strong film choices and powerful performance. Mallika Prasad gives you chills and makes you hate her character, while Mikhail Yawalkar brings surprising turns to the narrative.

Direction

Abhiraj Minawala understands the responsibility of carrying forward the legacy of Rani Mukerji and the Mardaani franchise, and he succeeds. He knows how to handle the “faulaadi tasheer” that is Shivani Shivaji Roy, keeping the film tight, brutal, and emotionally charged. His grip on the narrative ensures that the tension never drops, making the film engaging from start to finish.

Dialogues

“Risk ke bina sirf khandani paisa aata hai” and “Rani ko maat dene ke liye pyadon ki kurbaani deni padti hai” are enough to prove how powerful the writing is. These lines stay with you long after the film ends. And, of course, Mardaani would feel incomplete without Shivani Shivaji Roy’s impactful monologue so be ready for that.

Music

Music is not a major part of this film, but the background score works brilliantly to heighten the tension. It supports the mood without overpowering the story. The song is minimal yet motivating and carries a strong feminist energy that blends well with the film’s theme.

Overall

If you are obsessed with male police officers in Bollywood, Mardaani 3 will change your perspective. Shivani Shivaji Roy stands tall and powerful, proving that she can match and even surpass them. This film is intense, emotional, and fearless, making it a must-watch for fans of strong female-led cinema.
