The actress who is known for making always the best fashion choices stunned all with a deep burgundy velvet gown from Ralph Lauren and paired it with gold chainmail coif. Priyanka’s choice was apt as the theme for this year’s Met Gala was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. The outfit reminded of a medieval knight or maybe Mother Mary and was bang-on in keeping with the theme of the event. PeeCee completed her look with deep burgundy lips and finger waves in hair.
On Instagram, Ralph Lauren shared a close-up of the headgear and revealed that the custom piece took over 250 hours to hand bead. The intricately woven ornate piece is made of red Swarovski crystals and gold beading. Priyanka spoke with Liza Koshy about her Ralph Lauren crimson velvet gown and golden beaded headpiece and confessed that she may have sinned as she sipped a glass of wine before coming on to the red carpet. She also revealed that the embroidery was made in India so it has some sense of belonging to her. She said that she is channelling her inner Madonna or Mother Mary through her dress and headgear. On being asked whether she would be willing to wear the headgear at the Royal Wedding, she said, "Probably not as they might confuse me with the Pope." With her awesome ensemble, she made heads turn and became one of the best dressed at Met Gala.
