A day before his 54th birthday, Akshay Kumar had to face one of the most painful days of his life. He lost his mother Aruna Bhatia this morning. With a heavy heart, the actor bid adieu to his 'maa', who has now reunited with her husband in heaven.
Hours after his mother's funeral, Akshay was seen arriving for filmmaker Aanand L Rai’s mother’s last rites. According to reports, Aanand's mother too passed away this morning. Akshay attended the funeral alone. As per reports, the filmmaker's mother's funeral was held at Oshiwara Crematorium. Akshay has teamed up with Aanand for the film titled Raksha Bandhan.
Akshay shared the news of his mother's demise on social media. He wrote, "She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti."
