Three days after everyone at the Dolby Theater was in for a shock when Hollywood star Will Smith walked up to the stage and slapped comic artist Chris Rock over his humorous remark on Will's wife Jada Pinkett Smith, the comedian has reacted to the incident.
On Wednesday evening, March 30, Rock finally addressed the topic publically at a standup show in Boston. The comedian entered the stage being greeted by a three-minute standing ovation. After a while, he addressed the elephant in the room and talked about Will slapping him at Oscars 2022 stage. Chris told the audience, “I don’t have a bunch of shit about what happened, so if you came to hear that, I have a whole show I wrote before this weekend. I’m still kind of processing what happened. So, at some point I’ll talk about that shit. And it will be serious and funny.”

While the ticket prices for his six shows skyrocketed after the Oscar confrontation, the comedian made it clear he wasn’t going to talk at length about the incident. “If you came to hear that, I’m not ... I had like a whole show I wrote before this weekend,” he said.
For the unversed, the incident took place when Chris was on the stage to present the Oscars for Best Documentary category. Chris started his gig with a few jokes about the audience members, including Pinkett Smith, referring to her as "G.I. Jane" due to her closely cropped hair, Pinkett Smith has spoken in the past about her battle with alopecia. Moments after the joke, Smith walked to the stage and smacked Rock across the face. The uncensored footage of the show had Rock saying, "Will Smith just smacked the shit out of me," as Smith was on his way to his chair. "Wow, dude. It was a G.I. Jane joke." Will got back to his seat and shouted at Rock saying, "Keep my wife's name out of your fucking mouth".
