Britney Spears’ conservatorship case judge Brenda Penny receives death threats from singer’s fans, police monitoring online chatter

Britney Spears’ conservatorship case has got some new complications. The singer’s conservatorship judge Brenda Penny’s security is of concern for the law enforcement as she is getting death threats after denying Britney’s request to advance conservatorship hearing on her father, James Spears aka Jamie Spears, last week. According to media reports several death threats were posted against Judge Penny online, with many people asking her to lose her life and ‘die’ while others demanding her to resign from the case.

Reportedly, the cyberbullying and death threats posted online have come under the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department scanner as they have ‘found them to be concerning’. The authorities are monitoring the online activity and chatter against Judge Penny in this regard. LASD Deputy Shawn DuBusk told an online portal, “LASD continues to monitor the social media chatter regarding the ongoing Britney Spears civil court case. Although some of the language on social media is concerning, at this time, it has not risen to the level of a creditable criminal threat.”

A quick search on Twitter shows some of the hostile comments against Penny. One user wrote, “Brenda Penny i hope you die in your sleep.” Another tweeted that same day, “Judge Brenda Penny needs to f–king die! Someone investigate that b–h right now!” One user wrote, “I have a feeling this judge Brenda Penny is going to have a horrible mysterious death #freebritney.”

Judge Penny, who is Black, was also attacked with some racial slurs. The hashtag #BrendaPennyIsCorrupt was also trending on Twitter after her last week’s rulings. Most recently, she denied ‘without prejudice’ Britney’s attorney Matthew Rosengart’s request to speed up the next court hearing from September and immediately remove the pop star’s father from the conservatorship. As per reports, she did not see an “urgent need to call the hearing on Jamie’s future as conservator of Britney’s estate.”

Britney’s conservatorship battle is far from over. After breaking her silence in court for the first time on June 23, now her father has expressed that he might relinquish his hold on the singer’s conservatorship. On the other hand, the singer’s fans have been rallying around her with the movement #FreeBritney so that she can reclaim her life, career and finances. Judge Penny’s every move has been held under a microscope by the singer’s fans. The next court hearing is due on September 29.
