Brad Pitt’s and Angelina Jolie’s divorce does not seem to come to a conclusive end any time soon. The two stars had filed for divorce back in September of 2016 and although they are legally divorced, they are fast approaching a five-year custody battle of their six children and division of their enormous estate. A formal custody agreement and a final judgment on their divorce have yet to be determined and the former high-profile power couple is headed for a face-off in the court.
According to court records that were leaked to an online portal, Angelina has filed several documents claiming to be evidence in the support of alleged domestic violence against Brad. Along with Angelina’s testimony, there is a separate document filing concerning the testimony from the former couple's minor children. Both Brad and Angelina must grant permission from the court to involve, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne, in their divorce proceedings. Maddox, Zahara, and Pax, could also potentially testify in the trial, however, they are all adults and would not need parental consent. Maddox had already reportedly testified once before.
Angelina had made similar allegations of child abuse when she first filed for divorce after an incident involving Brad and their eldest son Maddox aboard a private plane. However, Brad was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing after an investigation was carried out by LAPD and Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services. Brad has been fighting for a 50/50 custody of the children while Angelina has fought for physical custody of the children. However, they have come to a common consensus on the children’s education. They previously agreed to have a more ‘traditional approach’ when it came to the children's education.
A source close to Brad told n online portal that the actor is heartbroken. The source said, “Brad is heartbroken that Angelina has gone that route. There’s a lot of emotion left after their marriage. He has taken responsibility for his actions and owned up to his past issues, he’s stopped drinking. The marriage was very passionate and toxic at times and — like all couples — they had fights, but also shared many good times together. He has talked about his drink and drug problems during the time they were together. Brad and his camp has never attacked Angelina. But his camp feels this leak was calculated to sway opinion ahead of the conclusion of their trial. Brad feels like he’s being more and more isolated from his children, and he’s devastated about it.”
